Stop Chasing the Wrong Things

Whatever you feed will grow.  If you give your energy to things that are a waste of time they will ultimately bring you down.  Let them go, now!  Stop chasing the wrong things and give the "right" things a chance to catch up.

Many times we get caught up in what others think about us.  This is normal, it happens, but God constantly reminds us not to worry about the opinions of others. God never told us to impress others. He only commanded us to love them.  So today, who cares what others think about you- simply love them right where they are!

What's Tempting You Today?

Daily Devotion:

 

Only you know the secret temptations you desire.  Today, God wants to remind you the He always provides a way out. Maybe you're tempted to put someone in their place when they've wronged you, or you're tempted by lust.  You might fight with temptations by drugs or over indulgence in food.  Whatever your temptations are, God has given you the weapons to defeat it. God is faithful and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability.  


1 Corinthians 10:13, "The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure."

 

We cannot always control everything that happens to us in this life, but we can control how we respond. Many struggles come as problems and pressures that sometimes cause pain. Others come as temptations, trials, and tribulations.

Trust God in the Darkness

Daily Devotion:

When times are tough and you can't see any way out, can you believe in God to make a way? When your world is upside down and you feel hopeless, can you stand on faith?  It's easy to trust God in good times, but can you trust in God when faced with darkness? Keep your faith in God. Faith is your foundation to trusting in God, even though you can't see the end results. 

Hebrews 11:1, "Faith is the substance of all things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Faith is about trusting God when you have unanswered questions.

Watch Your Words

Daily Devotion:

 

Have you ever got caught saying things you wish you didn't only to apologize for all of it later? Control your emotions from taking control of your words and actions.  Assess the situation by inviting God into every part of it.  


James 1:19, "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry."

Be slow to speak, and only after having first listened quietly, so that you may understand the meaning, leanings, and wishes of those who do speak. Thus you will better know when to speak and when to be silent.

No Judgement Zone

Daily Devotion:

 

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.  Not matter who you are around try not to judge. Love them right where they are. Love the choices they've made.  Love the blessings they received.  It is not up to us to judge others.  After all, you wouldn't want God to judge you!
